Obituary of Charles Ronnie Glore Sr

Charles Ronnie Glore Sr, 74, of Rosiclare, Illinois, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025. Born on March 13, 1951, Ronnie was the beloved child of the late Bill and Opal Dial Glore.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ronnie lived a life lived to the fullest, and love for his family. He worked as a coal miner and commercial fisherman and later owned and operated Ron’s Fish Market in Cave-In-Rock, IL.
Whether it was through his hard work, his stories, or his stubborn toughness, one thing is certain — Ronnie always made an impression on the people he met, good or bad.
Ronnie found joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and he had a special place in his heart for his dogs and his family. As his loved ones often said, “God couldn’t have made a tougher man.”
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Wiseman and Patricia Burton; his son, Charles Glore Jr.; his grandchildren, Dillon Glore, Marcus Burton, Micah Burton, and Maliah Burton; his significant other, Debbie Riley; his ex-wife, Jean Glore; and his nephews and great-niece and nephews of Bolivar, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Opal Dial Glore; and his sisters, Peggy and Carolyn; and niece Ruth Ann.
Ronnie will be remembered by his granddaughter Maliah through words that capture his spirit:
“He had hair as white as a cotton field
And he could spin you a story like a wagon wheel,
He never went nowhere without a rod and reel,
Lord, I miss that man, and I always will.
And they just don’t make ‘em like that no more.” — Ashley McBryde
And as his grandson Marcus lovingly said:
“Although you are no longer with the rest of the world, you shall always remain in the hearts of those who were lucky to spend moments with you.”
